How to Identify It
- Mouse droppings: small (rice-grain sized) with pointed ends
- Rat droppings: larger (up to 3/4 in) and capsule-shaped with blunt ends
- Fresh droppings are dark and soft; old ones are gray and crumbly
- Quantity and location hint at nest and travel routes
